2026 ACT Summer Internship Program in China
America-China Talk (ACT) is pleased to announce Summer Internships in China in 2026. This is an amazing opportunity for UCD students to experience Chinese culture and society first-hand at Jiangnan University (JNU) in the City of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. For four weeks the interns will work with JNU students and faculty related to the interns’ majors. JNU will provide room and board free of charge. In addition, ACT will offer a travel grant of $2,000, which will go toward airfare and visa.
Dates of Internship: June 27 – July 25, 2026 (plus a day before and after the program)
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be undergraduate students currently enrolled and in good standing at UC Davis. Students who are graduating in June 2026 are eligible.
- Applicants have never lived in, or traveled to, mainland China or Hong Kong for an extended period of time.
- Preferably, applicants have some background in the Chinese language (Mandarin) by the time the internship starts. For those who don’t know any Chinese, they must take a Chinese language class in the spring quarter before departure.
- Successful applicants must agree to fulfill the following requirements: 1) submit a written acceptance by email within a week of notice; 2) attend orientation meetings before departure; 3) share their experience as interns in the fall and winter quarters in the forms of presentations, interviews, and filling out a survey.
Application Procedure:
- Applicants must submit: 1) a one-page personal statement about why you think you will do well as an intern; 2) a resume; 3) a recommendation from a UCD professor you have studied or worked with.
